If you’re looking for a beach resort around Lagos where you can relax, enjoy nature, play outdoor games and spend quality time with friends or family, La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort in Ibeju-Lekki might be worth considering.
But how much does it cost to visit? How far is it from Lagos Mainland? What activities can you enjoy there? And is the experience worth the journey?
I visited La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort on October 1, 2026, during the public holiday, to answer these questions for myself. I had done some research before my visit, but I wanted to experience the resort firsthand and see what visitors should expect.
In this review, I’ll share my experience, the daycation price, the activities available, accommodation costs, the things I enjoyed and the areas I believe need improvement.
Where
Is La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort Located?
La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort is located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Getting there from Lagos Mainland requires some patience because the journey is quite long. We left Lagos Mainland at around 10 AM and arrived at the resort at approximately 1 PM, making the journey about 3hours on the day of our visit.
The route took us through areas around the Dangote Refinery and the Lekki Deep Sea Port.
One thing I appreciated about the journey was the road condition. From my observation, roughly 90% of the road leading to the resort was tarred, although some sections were still undergoing construction.
The road was generally smooth, which made the journey more comfortable than I had expected.
However, the distance is something you should consider when planning your visit. If you’re coming from Lagos Mainland, leave early enough to enjoy the resort without constantly checking the time.
My visit was on a public holiday, and because I had to return to work the following day, I couldn’t stay as long as I would have liked.
How to Get to La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort from Lagos Mainland
If you’re travelling to La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort from Lagos Mainland by public transport, you can get there by following these steps.
Step 1: Take a bus to CMS.
From Lagos Mainland, board a bus going to CMS (Marina).
Step 2: Board a bus going to Ibeju-Lekki.
At CMS, look for a bus heading towards Ibeju-Lekki and ask to be dropped off at Eleko Junction.
Step 3: Take a vehicle travelling along the Dangote Refinery route.
At Eleko Junction, enter a car going towards the Dangote Refinery. Before boarding, confirm with the driver that the vehicle passes La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort.
Step 4: Stop at La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort.
Tell the driver your destination before you set off. The resort is located on the right-hand side along that route.
My Travel Tip
I left Lagos Mainland at around 10 AM and arrived at the resort at approximately 1 PM on the day of my visit. Your journey may take more or less time depending on traffic, waiting time and transport connections.
If you’re visiting for a daycation, I recommend leaving early so you have enough time to enjoy the beach, swimming pool and other activities before returning home.
La Campagne Tropicana Daycation Price
One of the first things I wanted to establish was how much it costs to visit the resort without booking overnight accommodation.
During my visit, the daycation fee was ₦10,000.
After arriving, we were directed to the reception, where payment was made before we proceeded to enjoy the facilities.
For visitors who want a beach experience without paying for a hotel room, daycation is an option worth considering.
The resort has several recreational facilities, including a swimming pool, table tennis, badminton, volleyball and a football field. There are also other activities and services, some of which may require additional payment.
The exact activities available and their prices can change, so it’s worth confirming the current rates with the resort before visiting.
Activities to Enjoy at La Campagne Tropicana
One thing I noticed during my visit was that the resort offers several ways to spend your time beyond sitting beside the beach.
Here are some of the activities and facilities I encountered.
1. Swimming Pool
The swimming pool was one of the facilities that caught my attention. The water looked very clean when I visited.
Unfortunately, I made a mistake that I regretted almost immediately: I forgot to bring my swimming trunks.
Imagine travelling for hours to a beach resort, seeing a swimming pool that looks inviting and then remembering that you didn’t come prepared!
I could only admire the water instead of enjoying a swim.
If swimming is part of your plan, make sure you pack your swimming gear before leaving home.
2. Table Tennis
I also had the opportunity to play table tennis, and it was a fun experience.
I requested the equipment, and it was brought to us.
However, playing outdoors came with an unexpected challenge: the wind.
Because I was playing against the wind, I sometimes had to apply extra force to the ball to compensate for the resistance. It made the game a little different from playing indoors.
Despite that, I enjoyed the experience.
If you enjoy table tennis, you can ask about its availability when you arrive.
3. Football, Badminton and Volleyball
The resort also has a football field, a badminton area and facilities for volleyball.
These activities make the resort a reasonable option for groups of friends who want to spend time together rather than simply sit by the beach.
If you’re visiting with a group, you can plan friendly matches and make the day more interactive.
I would recommend checking whether the necessary equipment is available before your visit. You may also want to bring your own football rather than assume one will be provided.
4. Horse Riding
Horse riding was another activity I hoped to try.
Interestingly, I didn’t see the horse while I was looking around the resort. I only spotted it near the area where it was kept as I was leaving.
By then, I had already run out of time.
I therefore didn’t get to ride the horse, so I can’t give a firsthand review of that experience.
If horse riding is one of the main reasons you’re considering a visit, confirm whether it’s available on your chosen date before travelling.
5. Kayaking and Boat Cruise
I also planned to try kayaking.
The resort had an area where water from the beach flowed into a designated section, creating a space intended for water activities.
Unfortunately, the boats were not available when I visited, so I couldn’t try kayaking.
The resort also offers a boat-cruise experience. However, some of the boats I saw appeared to need better maintenance.
This was one of the disappointments of my visit.
Having a designated area for an activity is a good start, but visitors also need the equipment to be available and properly maintained.
I would recommend confirming the availability of kayaking and boat cruises before making them a central part of your plans.
6. Children’s Playground
La Campagne Tropicana also has a children’s section with a playground.
This is a useful feature for parents visiting with their children, as it gives younger visitors somewhere to play while the adults enjoy the surroundings.
Combined with the beach and outdoor activities, this makes the resort an option to consider for family outings and picnics.
7. Mini Bike and Other Activities
The mini bike was another activity I noticed. During my visit, the quoted price was around ₦30,000.
There were also other activities and services, including face painting, that could attract additional charges.
Because these prices may change, confirm the current rates before budgeting for your trip.
The Environment: My Favourite Part of the Visit
Of everything I experienced at La Campagne Tropicana, the natural environment was probably my favourite part.
I’m a lover of nature, so I appreciated the greenery, trees, beach views and cool breeze.
There was something relaxing about sitting on one of the swinging chairs and watching the sea.
For a moment, I wasn’t thinking about the journey, work or the activities I still wanted to try. I was simply enjoying the surroundings.
This is one of the reasons I would recommend the resort to someone looking for a change of environment.
Sometimes, you don’t need an elaborate activity to enjoy an outing. A comfortable place to sit, a pleasant view and some time away from your usual routine can be enough.
A Moment That Reminded Me That Family Is Everything
While sitting near the beach, I noticed a father and his daughter playing in the sand.
It was a simple moment. They weren’t doing anything elaborate; they were just spending time together and playing.
Watching them genuinely made me happy.
It reminded me that creating memories with family doesn’t always require expensive activities or elaborate plans. Sometimes, being present and enjoying a simple moment together is enough.
That experience added a personal touch to my visit. Beyond the recreational facilities, the resort provided a setting where families could spend time together and enjoy the outdoors.
The Cocktail Bar, Coconut Water and Snooker
During the visit, we stopped at the cocktail bar to get something to drink, and I had some coconut water.
While there, I decided to look through the drinks menu to see what was available and how much the drinks cost.
One item immediately caught my attention: Sex on the Beach.
For a moment, I wondered what I was looking at. After checking the menu more closely, I realised it was the name of a cocktail.
It was an amusing little discovery, but it also gave me a reason to take a closer look at the drinks list.
I recorded the price list during my visit, so anyone interested in the available drinks can refer to that footage. The prices should be confirmed with the resort because menus and rates can change.
Another thing I noticed inside the cocktail bar was a snooker table.
If you know how to play snooker, this is another activity you can ask about when visiting with friends.
It was a nice addition to the indoor entertainment options.
Accommodation at La Campagne Tropicana
Although I visited for a daycation, the resort also offers accommodation for guests who want to stay overnight.
During my research and based on the pricing information available to me, the lowest room price I encountered was around ₦200,000 and above.
The actual cost depends on the room and package, and I didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t provide a firsthand review of the rooms.
If you want to spend more time enjoying the beach, swimming pool and other facilities, staying overnight may give you more time than a daycation.
However, confirm the current room rates, what each package includes and the booking conditions directly with the resort before making a reservation.
What I Didn’t Like About La Campagne Tropicana
Although I enjoyed parts of my visit, I don’t think the resort was perfect.
There are a few things prospective visitors should keep in mind.
1. The Distance from Lagos Mainland
The journey took approximately four hours on the day I visited.
That is a significant amount of travel time for a day trip, especially if you have to return home the same evening.
I had to leave early because I needed to prepare for work the following day. As a result, I missed several activities I had planned to try.
My advice is to leave early and allow enough time to enjoy the resort.
I wanted to try kayaking, but the boats were unavailable during my visit.
I also didn’t get to ride the horse because I only saw it when I was leaving.
These experiences showed me why it’s important to confirm the availability of specific activities before visiting.
Don’t assume that every advertised activity will necessarily be available when you arrive.
3. Some Boats Appeared to Need Better Maintenance
I also felt that some of the boats I saw could benefit from better maintenance.
This was my personal observation based on their appearance, rather than an assessment of their actual condition.
In my opinion, maintaining equipment and making activities available to visitors are important parts of providing a good resort experience.
The location and scenery may attract visitors, but the quality and upkeep of the facilities also influence how enjoyable the visit becomes.
Is La Campagne Tropicana Worth Visiting?

Based on my experience, yes, La Campagne Tropicana is worth considering if you want a beach outing, a peaceful environment or somewhere to spend time with friends and family.
I particularly enjoyed the greenery, the beach views, the breeze and the opportunity to sit back and enjoy nature.
The ₦10,000 daycation fee also gave me access to several recreational facilities, although some activities came with additional charges.
However, the long journey, unavailable kayaking equipment and my observations about some of the boats affected the overall experience.
I would also recommend going with someone rather than visiting alone if you want to make the most of the recreational activities and take pictures together.
Most importantly, give yourself enough time. Don’t plan a late arrival if you want to swim, play games, enjoy the beach and try several other activities.
Would I visit again? Yes, I would consider returning, preferably with more time and my swimming gear packed.
There are still things I would like to try, including kayaking and horse riding.
Final Thoughts
My trip to La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort was a mix of beautiful scenery, fun activities, small disappointments and memorable moments.
I enjoyed playing table tennis, sitting on the swinging chair, admiring the beach and watching a father spend time with his daughter.
At the same time, I learned that it’s worth checking activity availability and planning your schedule carefully before visiting.
If you’re considering a trip, use my experience as a guide, confirm the latest prices and make sure you arrive early enough to enjoy the facilities.
Sometimes, the best part of a trip isn’t just what you planned to do. It’s the unexpected moments you experience along the way.
