About Maryam Babangida Leisure Park
I visited one of the most underrated places in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, Nigeria. Before I dive into my experience, let’s talk about a little history. Maryam Babangida Leisure Park is a popular recreational centre established in honour of Maryam Babangida, the late wife of former Nigerian military president Ibrahim Babangida.
The park is renowned for its serene environment, beautiful landscaping, and various recreational facilities, including gardens, playgrounds, picnic areas, and sports facilities. It has one of the best water parks in Asaba. It’s a common destination for families, tourists, and locals alike, offering a place for relaxation and leisure activities.
Maryam Babangida Leisure Park Tickets Prices
Now, you might be wondering about the ticket costs for this fantastic place. For a day full of fun and adventure, tickets for kids are just 6,500 Naira. For adults, there are three different packages ranging from 8,000 to 16,000 Naira. The basic ticket includes the same activities as the kids’ ticket, but if you’re an adventurous person, I’d advise you to level up your game and go for the Platinum or Prime Ticket.
These tickets include the Sky Tower Pass and the Zoo Pass. The Prime Ticket also offers access to go-karting and kayaking. There’s also a special discount for groups of five or more and special events, so it’s always a good idea to check ahead.
Exploring the Park
From the top of the Sky Tower, you can see how massive and amazing this park is. It’s not just any tower; it gives you the best view of the entire park and the city beyond—a perfect spot for some epic selfies!
If you’re into speed and competition, the go-kart tracks are a great place to race against family and friends. The park also has a zoo where you can see different animals up close, which is especially exciting for animal lovers.
For those who enjoy games, there’s a paintballing arena—a fun way to spend time strategizing and playing with others. I didn’t go paintballing this time because the last time I did, it was quite intense.
There are also rollerblades, skateboards, and hoverboard sports. Whether you’re a newbie or a pro, there’s plenty of space to try out your moves and show off your skills. If water activities are more your style, you shouldn’t miss out on kayaking or taking a dip in the swimming area. It’s especially refreshing on a hot day, which Asaba is known for.

Fun for All Ages
For the little adventurers, there’s a garden packed with fun play machines and even a Ferris wheel. And it’s not just for kids—adults can enjoy it too. The Ferris wheel offers stunning views of the city, and there are staff members to ensure everything is safe for your children.
Sports enthusiasts will love the sports area, which has facilities for various games. There’s a basketball court, a tennis court, and a few others. Though I didn’t explore these parts in detail, they looked inviting for anyone wanting to get active.
There’s also a hotel area for relaxation and a film village for shooting movies with a village-like look. And let’s not forget the zoo, the water slide, and other attractions I couldn’t cover in this post.
