Spread the love

I recently had the pleasure of visiting JJT Park (Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park) in Ikeja for the first time. A friend and I attended a program we discovered online, and the anticipation of seeing a new recreational spot was exciting.

Locating JJT Park was quite easy since it’s a well-known landmark in Ikeja, recognized for its lush greenery and inviting atmosphere.

Entry and Initial Observations

With high expectations from the glowing online reviews, I was under the impression that entry to the park was free. However, upon arrival, we were informed that there was an entry fee of ₦1,000 per person. Despite the unexpected fee, we were eager to see what the park had to offer. Spanning approximately 21,800 square meters (about 2.5 hectares), the park’s size is quite impressive, providing ample space for a variety of activities and events.

The park is designed to cater to visitors of all ages, making it an excellent spot for picnics and family outings. One of the first features we noticed was the statues of the park’s namesakes – Johnson, Jakande, and Tinubu – which serve as a tribute to these prominent figures in Lagos State’s history.
